Miss Chile Just Unleashed Death Metal Vocals At The Miss World Pageant

Forget the evening gown and swimsuit rounds – Miss Chile Ignacia Fernández has once again brought the BLEGH to the beauty pageant circuit, delivering a crushing death metal performance on the global Miss World stage.

The reigning Miss World Chile, who also fronts Chilean death metal band Decessus, represented her country in the Miss World talent competition in Vietnam this week, performing her band’s original track The Hollow Descent at the Children’s Culture Center in Nha Trang.

“Getting to bring metal to the @missworld stage and share a part of who I am through music was an incredible experience.”

Fernández first went viral last year after casually unleashing her brutal death growls during the Miss World Chile competition, performing another original Decessus track on her way to ultimately being crowned the pageant’s 2025 winner.

Now competing for the global Miss World crown, Fernández has once again refused to leave the metal at home.

Taking to the stage for this year’s talent competition, the beauty queen delivered The Hollow Descent, showcasing the kind of guttural vocals you’d generally expect to hear from a festival moshpit rather than an international beauty pageant.

Sadly, metal supremacy was not achieved on this particular occasion.

Fernández ultimately lost the talent round to Miss World England Grace Richardson, who performed Over the Rainbow – proving, apparently, that even death metal has its kryptonite.

Still, Fernández remains in contention for the overall Miss World title, and reflected on the surreal experience of taking her music to the international pageant stage afterwards.

“A moment I’ll never forget,” she wrote on Instagram. “Getting to bring metal to the @missworld stage and share a part of who I am through music was an incredible experience.”

Fernández also congratulated Richardson on taking out the talent category and praised her fellow competitors.

“Every contestant who took part in the talent competition was extraordinary and unique,” she continued. “The level of talent was truly incredible, and I want to congratulate England on winning first place!”

Fernández fronts Decessus, a Chilean death metal outfit who have been releasing music since 2020.

And whether or not she ultimately walks away with the Miss World crown, we’re pretty confident Ignacia Fernández has already secured the considerably more important unofficial title of Miss World Metal Queen.

Watch her bring The Hollow Descent to the Miss World stage above.
