Molly Meldrum remains unconscious at The Alfred hospital in Melbourne after undergoing surgery last night to ease the swelling on his brain. Molly is suffering from broken ribs, a punctured lung and swelling on the brain after he split his head open after falling from a ladder at his home in Richmond. At the time of the accident he was hanging Christmas decorations for a party he had planned for the weekend.
Hospital staff are confident that Molly will recover, but at the moment his family, friends and the Australian public are waiting anxiously as the Aussie icon remains in intensive care.
Last night Molly’s manager issued a statement on behalf of Molly’s Family and friends saying:
Unfortunately late this afternoon Molly had a fall at home. As a consequence of that fall he suffered significant injuries. I’m a half full person, I’m always preparing for a better outcome.
Australian musicians have taken to Twitter to wish Molly a speedy recovery.
