Mountain Sounds Festival Drops 2019 Dates, Teases Potential Headliner

UPDATE: Mountain Sounds Festival’s 2019 Lineup Is Here & It’s Pretty Bloody Insane

ORIGINAL STORY: New South Wales’ annual Mountain Sounds festival has revealed its 2019 dates, while also teasing a potential headline act ahead of its upcoming lineup announcement.

The festival’s sixth edition will return to the Central Coast’s Mount Penang Gardens on Friday, 15th and Saturday, 16th February, after shifting to a two-day, three-night format in 2018.

An almost 20,000-strong crowd witnessed sets from the likes of Amy Shark, Gang Of Youths, Grouplove and Peking Duk at this year’s festival, and while next year’s lineup is still to be announced, organisers have admitted they left a “hint” in their new video teaser, which is soundtracked by Angus & Julia Stone’s hit single ‘Chateau’ — a not-so-subtle suggestion that the brother-sister duo could headline next year’s event.

The full 2019 Mountain Sounds lineup will be announced “in a couple of weeks”, organisers say.

Police were “generally pleased” with crowd behaviour at Mountain Sounds 2018, despite a number of assault and drug-related arrests.
