New Video Appears To Show Guitarist From Metal Band Iced Earth Charging at Officers During Capitol Riots

Jon Schaffer, the guitarist from US metal band Iced Earth, has already been arrested for his part in the deadly US Capitol riots. Now, we have a video apparently showing the moment he stormed the building alongside a legion of fellow rabid pro-Trump maniacs.

The footage, submitted as evidence in the ex-President’s second impeachment trial and released by CNN, appears to show Schaffer fronting the mob as they stormed the entrance to the building.

Wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, a tactical vest and black leather fingerless gloves, a man resembling the 52-year-old musician appears to point his finger and yell at the officers.

You can check it out below.

Schaffer is facing six federal criminal charges for his role in the insurrection, accused — among other things — of spraying a police officer with bear repellant.

Meanwhile, it was also widely reported today that two of his bandmates, Stu Block and Luke Appleton, have quit the band in the wake of the guitarist’s arrest.

In a statement posted to Facebook, Appleton wrote: “In response to recent events & circumstances, I have notified Iced Earth’s management and Jon that I will be resigning as the Iced Earth bassist with immediate effect.

“I would like to thank everyone who has sent me their support and love during this difficult time. Thank you!”
