Newtown Festival 2015 Lineup Announced

Sydney’s free Newtown Festival is ready to celebrate ‘Newtopia’ this November, and has announced its 2015 lineup packing the likes of Sydney five-piece Jinja Safari (pictured), local shoegazers The Laurels and singer-songwriter Steve Smyth.

Also named on this year’s Newtown Festival lineup are psych-rock outfit The Walking Who, fellow rockers The Cops, Sydney’s Spookyland, singer-songwriter Gordi and indie-pop songstress Le Pie.

Across its five stages, Newtown Festival’s 2015 instalment will also feature ‘Newtopia Village’, hosting gypsy, ska, reggae, dub, blues, swing and jazz vibes from the likes of Project Collective Ska, Queen Porter Stomp, Betty & Oswald and Midnight Tea Party. Catch the full lineup, below.

Aside from the tunes, the event will also feature almost three hundred stalls, a Writers’ Tent, Dog Show, Vocal Local Village, Kids Zone, Live Art Hub, Eco Oasis, roving performers and more. Check out everything that’s on offer over at the Newtown Festival website.

Newtown Festival announced this year’s theme, ‘Newtopia’, in May, hoping to higlight local businesses, artists and organisations as it raises money for the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (NNC) and its work with vulnerable people in the local community.

Newtown Festival 2015 will take place in Camperdown Memorial Rest Park on Sunday, 8th November. Entry is free, with all funds raised from the event going directly to the NNC.
