Nicolas Jaar Calls Time On Darkside…For Now

Nicolas Jaar has officially called time on Darkside, the electronic music duo he co-founded with Dave Harrington. Following their final performance together, the production duo will go on indefinite hiatus, at least “for now”.

Taking to his Twitter account, Jaar revealed that he and Harrington will perform the “last Darkside show” in Brooklyn, New York on 12th September. The band’s collective Twitter account also tweeted “Darkside is coming to an end, for now”. Those last two words have since been re-emphasised by Jaar, who later tweeted, “Dear websites, please learn how to read: Coming to an end….. FOR NOW.”

As a parting gift for their fans, Darkside have also uploaded two previously unreleased tracks onto their Soundcloud page. Gone Too Soon and What They Say (below) were recorded during sessions for the duo’s first and only studio album, Psychic, in 2012. Jaar confirmed via Twitter that the two songs will be released as part of the WORK compilation which is set to drop at the end of September via his Other People imprint.

“Thanks for listening and supporting us,” the duo tweeted, signing off after what has been a whirlwind year since Physic‘s release in October 2013. The pair last toured Australia in April 2014.
