Nirvana And Joan Jett Rock Hall Rehearsal Audio Surfaces Online

UPDATE 10:10am AEDT 11/04/14: According to Alternative Nation, who shot and uploaded the covert clip, the audio of Nirvana’s rehearsal has been pulled. The ceremony proper is only hours away so expect lots of smartphone footage of Nirvana’s Rock Hall performance soon.

A short audio clip of the surviving members of Nirvana and Joan Jett, who was teased as an addition to their upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance earlier this week, playing the band’s classic Smells Like Teen Spirit has surfaced online, courtesy of an Alternative Nation staffer.

As Blabbermouth reports, the reporter for the alternative music outlet was apparently wandering the halls of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and managed to capture a piece of audio as the band was rehearsing ahead of their imminent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

After much speculation over who would front the surviving members of the legendary grunge group, fans picked Joan Jett after a photo was shared to the Foo Fighters Facebook page depicting Jett’s sticker-covered guitar sitting between Pat Smear‘s Stratocaster and Krist Novoselic’s bass.

The induction performance won’t be the first time drummer Dave Grohl has worked with Jett. In 2011, the Foo Fighters appeared with the rock legend on The Late Show With David Letterman. The two also collaborated on the track Any Weather from Jett’s 2013 record, her first in seven years.
