No Blink-182 at Big Day Out 2012 – Eminem Very Likely

Rumours that Blink-182 would be out here soon (likely for Big Day Out 2012) have been squashed after it’s been revealed that drummer Travis Barker is too nervous to fly. While Eminem is now likely to be here this summer either doing Big Day Out, or his own stadium shows.

Blink-182 were strongly rumoured to play here this summer, and were connected to a Big Day Out 2012 appearance, or Soundwave 2012 as a long shot. But Herald Sun reporter Nui To Koha has reported today on Triple M Melbourne’s Hot Breakfast that “We will not see Blink-182 anytime soon.”

“The deal is that Travis refuses to fly. He was in a Learjet crash in 2008, so he refuses to leave the ground. There’s been talk of getting a replacement drummer to play with Blink-182 and the band have ruled that out.”

Eminem will be out here in the Summer either doing a run of stadium shows, or on the Big Day Out 2012 line-up.

“He’s looking to do either the Big Day Out or stadium shows in December – one in Sydney and one in Melbourne. The stadium show looks more likely.”

This will be Eminem’s first visit to Australia since 2001.
