Sydney metalcore lads Northlane have sent fans into a tailspin by unveiling a mysterious new video called ‘M E S M E R’, as well as a chat bot which doesn’t respond kindly to questions about new music.
The band’s three-minute ‘M E S M E R’ video (below) has a pretty electronic soundtrack, but also features some guitar work and hushed vocals towards the end, mixed in with video of dancers, cityscapes, trains and Northlane members looking generally mysterious.
There’s also a section which looks eerily like, well, you’ll see…

The group’s new chat bot, which you can access through Facebook right here, begins its conversation by asking for a “Mr. Snow”, before giving the user options for how to reply. If you ask the bot about potential new Northlane music, it usually replies with, “Don’t shift your view. You might slip and fall.”
Earlier this month, Northlane announced a new national tour for their recent single ‘Intuition’. The band released their latest album Node in July 2015.
