Ocean Grove Usher In Their New Era With Slammin’ New Banger ‘Ask For The Anthem’

Welcome to the new era of Oddworld.

Ocean Grove T-1000 is officially here, with the band smashing us with a brand new single and music video dubbed ‘Ask For The Anthem’, which showcases their refurbished lineup (sans O-G OG’s Luke Holmes and Jimmy Hall) with former bassist Dale Tanner now on fully-fledged frontman duties and new recruit Twiggy Hunter from The Beverly Chills on the slap stick.

FYI the song — produced by drummer Sam Bassal and co-written with studio member Running Touch — is an absolute choonasaurus, slamming us with some trademark grooves of thunder and FYI Dale’s down-tuned rap vox and trademark grunge-inflected melodies are a winning combo.

While the matching clip, directed and edited by the band’s longtime collaborator Thomas Elliott, is full of the same Oddworld quirk you’ve come to expect from your fave OG freakazoids.

“We pushed our own limits of experimentation on this track,” Dale explains. “It is by far the most time and energy we have invested into any one song. Just so you know, this is not a song about being cool and getting the girl. Look closer.” #woke

Take ‘Ask For The Anthem’ for a spin below and ICYMI you can catch Ocean Grove touring live across the country from this weekend alongside their m8s Hands Like Houses, plus Endless Heights and RedHook (Hey, that’s my band! PUMPED AS LET’S GO LADS).
