Ocean Sleeper Are Entering A Huge New Era With Their Biggest Tour Yet

Regional Victorian metalcore heavyweights Ocean Sleeper are officially levelling up.

Fresh off unveiling their crushing new single Break The Cycle and announcing a major new signing to BMG Australia & New Zealand and Rise Records, the four-piece have now revealed details of their biggest Australian headline tour to date – and it feels like the start of a pretty massive new era for the band.

Ocean Sleeper – ‘Break The Cycle’

Kicking off this September, the run will see Ocean Sleeper tear through Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne alongside an absolutely stacked support lineup featuring Nevertel (US), Vana (NZ) and Victorian heavy outfit Outloved.

And if you’ve been watching Ocean Sleeper over the past few years, this all feels very earned.

Between sold-out headline tours at home, international runs across the US, Europe, the UK and Japan, plus recent appearances alongside the likes of Polaris, We Came As Romans and Thy Art Is Murder, the band have steadily transformed from local metalcore favourites into a genuinely global rising force.

According to vocalist Karl Spiessl, this upcoming run marks another huge milestone in that journey.

“We can’t wait to finally be touring back home in Australia again and in our biggest rooms ever,” Spiessl shared. “After last year’s sold-out headline tour, we have been grinding out tours all over the world which has made our performances better than ever before.”

“The band has been growing really quickly in the last few years, very honoured to be able to play all of these shows alongside Nevertel, Vana & Outloved.”

“We have spent a long time working on new music and we can’t wait to start performing our new single Break The Cycle live. Everything right now is a massive step forward for the band, new music, new label signing and the crowds we get to play too.”

Released earlier this month, Break The Cycle feels tailor-made for this moment in the band’s career – a huge, emotionally charged anthem balancing relentless heaviness with massive melodic payoff.

The band say the track was inspired by the struggle of breaking into the global touring market as an independent Australian act, with help from Jon Lundin of Point North, who co-wrote the single.
