Odd Future’s Syd Tha Kyd found time to catch up with Senior Music Feeds Reporter Pat Abboud while they were in Sydney for The Big Day Out Festival. We asked her about missing member Earl Sweatshirt and she made it clear that it’s not a publicity stunt and emphasised how much they miss Earl. Syd Tha Kyd said:
We don’t (talk about Earl) cause it hurts, he was a member of the family and he’s not here anymore and to everybody else it’s a media stunt, but it’s real, so no, we don’t talk about it (Earl) much.

In November Tyler sent fans into a frenzy when he suggested via Twitter that Earl has returned to LA and was recording his next album. That turned out to be a prank and Tyler later tweeted : Thebe Said That I Need The Award For Biggest Troll Of 2011 … Hahahahaha.
Tyler has recently tweeted dispelling rumours that Earl would be home in February:

In April Complex Magazine claimed they managed to find him at Coral Reef Academy in Samoa. They used clues in the lyrics, Facebook musings and a tip-off from a student who also attended the school.
Syd The Kid’s Side project The Internet will release their first album Purple Naked Ladies on January 31, 2012 through Odd Future Records.
