Icelandic indie six-piece Of Monsters and Men will tour Australia for the first time this July after generating buzz around the US and Europe. The anticipation for when they would finally reach our shores is finally over after they announced three shows for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The group first appeared on the international radar, playing an early slot on Iceland’s renowned Airwaves Festival in 2010, with critics beginning to catch on to their contagious indie pop sound. Their music carries a dynamic live energy mixed with folk charm and fist-pumping choruses.
Their debut album My Head is an Animal was released in April this year, and they have enjoyed triple j airplay, blog love, and a growing fan base, echoing similar sentiments that locally we’ll love them just as much.
