Parklife 2013 Lineup Leaks Commence As First Act Self-Confirms

Here’s something to keep you warm over the long winter months. As we settle into another gloomy cold season, with Splendour the lone musical blip on the cold, cold horizon, it’s only natural to start thinking about all the awesome festival good times we’re gonna have once the ice melts, and Parklife is often a calendar highlight.

If the Herald Sun isn’t telling us porkies, it looks like English electronic brother-act Disclosure will be making an appearance at the proceedings. Journo Mikey Cahill asked one half of the outfit, Guy Lawrence, if they were planning to head to Australia anytime soon, to which he responded, “I think we’re doing Parklife. Has that been announced yet? Oh. Well, if you’re nice you won’t put that in.”

Naturally, Cahill pretended he hadn’t heard that got on Twitter pronto and announced “SCOOP: I can disclose @disclosure will play Parklife 2013. “I don’t know whether that’s been announced” – Guy Lawrence.” Nice one, Mikey.

There’s been a few other festival leaks of late, with Neutral Milk Hotel confirmed as the first on the bill for AJ Maddah‘s indie gathering Harvest. All-girl post-punk band Savages seem like a sure thing for Laneway 2014, with drummer Fay Milton telling The Vine, “We’re coming over in February next year – I don’t know if our festival has been announced actually, but I’ve been to the festival before, it should be good.”

Parklife 2013 will take place in September and October of this year and the first lineup announcement should drop later this month, so in the meantime, fetch your Snuggie, make some hot cocoa and join us in speculating on headline acts like it ain’t no thang.
