Pond Announce East Coast Tour Dates For 2022

Fremantle psych-pop quintet Pond have announced a handful of east coast tour dates for next year. Alongside a Perth festival appearance in February, the band will perform shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in April 2022.

The announcement follows the release of Nick Allbrook and co’s ninth studio album, the appropriately-titled 9, which arrived back in October after being previewed with singles like ‘America’s Cup’ and ‘Toast’.

“We sort of gave ourselves permission to make something stuffed this time,” Allbrook explained upon announcing the album, which was produced by  the band themselves.

To coincide with the announcement, the band have also shared a video for album track ‘Take Me Avalon I’m Young’. The clip was filmed in Hastings, England and directed by filmmaker Bunny Kinney, and sees Allbrook taking part in all manner of athletic activities. In an accompanying statement, the frontman called it the most fun video he’d been a part of.

“I spent two days rushing around Hastings with my dear friend Bunny and the lovely George, Joe and James Beatty, running, swimming, shooting, fencing and playing terrible basketball. It was a dream come true.”

Watch the clip for ‘Take Me Avalon I’m Young’ and see tour dates below. Tickets are on sale now.
