PREMIERE: Young Monks Get Weird, And Quick, In ‘Bad Bad Freddy’ Music Video

If your day/week was in need of a hefty dose of upbeat, tropical jams to bop along too, well, your boys Young Monks have you sorted. Today, the gang release their brand new single and clip combo for the straight-up good time that is Bad Bad Freddy.

The Canberra crew have put a hellova lot into this jam. Combining the best bits of psychedelic ’60s, funky ’70s and heavy-hearted ’80s, they’ve come up with a sound that can only really be described as neo-psych, which is about as much fun to say out loud as it is to hear.

The floating guitars and drowsy beats tie in seamlessly with the dizzy visuals of the clip. The wig out factor is strong with this one so if you aren’t too keen on creepy puppets and masked men…you should probably still check it out anyway.

Given the breezy, summer vibes of the track, and its predecessor Jarmin In The Dark, we’ve no doubt got plenty more Young Monks ahead of us as things heat up. Word is they’ve been busy writing a new record which we can expect in the early half of next year. The band will be performing at Spilt Milk this December.
