QLD Music Festival To Be The First To Cop Pop-Up Vaccination Hub

As an extension of the #VaxTheNation campaign, Queensland country music festival Savannah In The Round will be the first Aussie music festival to host an on-site, pop-up vaccination hub.

The festival, which kicks off this Friday, 1st October in Cairns, will host the pop-up for the full day from 8AM-4PM, with punters being given the opportunity to pop in and grab their jab free of charge, thanks to Cairns Health.

The festival are taking their stance on COVID-safety to new heights, with thousands expected to gather at the three-day festival.

“Creating a festival in the middle of a pandemic is no easy task, but vaccination is the key to freedom, and we’re pleased to partner with Queensland Health to make it easy for those who choose to roll up their sleeves,” said event director James Dein.

“We have worked hard for over two years now on ensuring our COVID plan is best practice, and while we’re proud of the event we’ll be delivering to the Tropical North this weekend, we are urging our patrons to join us in getting the jab so that normal life can be just around the corner.”

The festival will host over 40 artists, including John Williamson, Lee Kernaghan, John Butler, Sheppard, and more.

The #VaxTheNation campaign has been in full swing for the last month, with key figures in the Australian music industry banding together to urge the public to get vaccinated, in order to stop the near-constant interruptions to performances across the country.

A few weeks back, some of Australia’s biggest promoters announced a competition, with five, fully-vaxxed Aussies being given tickets to every single stadium and arena tour hitting the country in 2022.

Tickets to Savannah In The Round are still available. Grab them here.
