Rancid’s Tim Armstrong Confirms His ‘X-Files’ Cameo Is Coming This Week

Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong has confirmed he is to become part of the rebooted X-Files universe when he appears on the show later this week alongside old mates Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

Posting to Facebook, Armstrong says he is “honoured” that his cameo will appear on the upcoming X-Files episode ‘Home Again’, which is set to air in the US on Monday, 8th February. The episode’s IMDB page says Armstrong will be playing the character of Trashman, as Mulder and Scully investigate the murder of a city official.

Today’s edition of Armstrong’s Tim Timebomb & Friends radio show will also feature interviews with writers, directors and producers from The X-Files, just to get everyone in the mood for Armstrong’s cameo on Monday.

This isn’t the first time Armstrong has worked as an actor before, having appeared in the likes of 2004 drama film The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things and his own musical theater web-series Rock’N’Roll Theater.

Oh and if you missed it, it turns out that David Duchovny (aka Fox Mulder) is also a folk singer now, for reals.
