Rock The Vax: Classic Rock Record Label Offers Free Vinyl To COVID-Vaccinated Aussies

A homegrown classic rock record label has launched a new initiative encouraging more Aussies to get the COVID jab.

Golden Robot Records will chuck a free album (on either CD or vinyl) from their extensive back catalogue, which features artists such as Rose Tattoo, Dizzy Reed (Guns N’ Roses), LA Guns, Jefferson Starship, Horsehead, David Campbell, Hayley Jensen, Nick Barker and more, to those who’ve been vaccinated against the dreaded virus.

Dubbed Rock The Vax, the initiative has already copped a huge response, with a flood of 500 submissions on Day 1.

As a result, the good folks at Golden Robot have decided to extend the vaccination incentive until August 15.

To score your free record, all you have to do is go and get the jab, then shoot an email to rockthevax@goldenrobotrecords.com with your digital certificate from the medicare app to prove vaccination, along with your GRR album request and postal address.

Label head Mark Alexander-Erber said he was inspired to launch the Rock The Vax initiative because he just couldn’t “sit back and watch a country I love have one of the lowest vax rates in the world”.

“The music industry has suffered terribly since the start of this pandemic, as many bands rely on touring for the majority of their income,” he said.

“COVID-19 caused touring to come to a grinding halt and vaccination seems to be the only way to bring normality back to touring and our lives. Bands need to tour to promote albums and album sales can be elevated by touring.”
