Rolling Stones Drama Movie About Recording ‘Exile on Main Street’ To Be Made

A new Rolling Stones movie about the making of their double album Exile on Main Street, which was recorded in Southern France in 1971, is in the works. The film will focus on Mick Jagger and Keith Richards’ edgy relationship at that time.

According to Deadline Hollywood, unlike the previous films about that period, this one will be a dramatic recreation, adapted from Robert Greenfield’s 2008 book Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones, which was acquired by Richard Branson’s own Virgin Production company, who will partner with City Entertainment and KippSter Entertainment to make the film.

This isn’t the only Rolling Stones film that’s floating around; a Stones’ 50th anniversary documentary will be released this September.
