Ryan Adams Just Dissed The Strokes A Bunch On Twitter

Ryan Adams has taken to Twitter to insult members of The Strokes, calling guitarist Albert Hammond Jr a “horrible songwriter” and frontman Julian Casablancas “strung out on lasagna”.

“Abert [sic] Hammond is a more horrible songwriter than his dad. If that’s possible,” Adams wrote. “It rains in Sthtrn CA & washes out the dirt.”

He later tweeted about Casablancas, saying, “Julian Casablancas: who got you strung out on lasagna tho?”

Adams’ later tweets included, “Last Impressions of Actual Songs” — a reference to The Strokes’ album First Impressions Of Earth — as well as, “I should’ve forced them to get addicted to writing better songs. Too bad The Killers did it for them.”

It’s unclear what exactly led Adams to go after the band today, but his comments come after the publication of a new book by Lizzy Goodman titled ‘Meet Me In The Bathroom’, in which Hammond says Adams was a “bad influence” who supplied him with heroin. Adams has denied the claims.

Later, when Adams was called out by a Twitter user who said, “Imagine attacking Julian fucking Casablancas when your only notable musical contribution is covering a Taylor Swift album,” he responded with, “I sold more t shirts last night than people who actually made it thru a single Voidz song, bro,” referencing Julian Casablancas’ side project The Voidz, before adding, “What’s he gonna do? Sit on me?”

Another Twitter user put Hammond’s “bad influence” claim to Adams, saying, “He is mad cause Julian etc named and shamed him as the cause of ahj’s heroin problem in the book.” To which Adams replied, “He’s no only the president of lack of accountability: He also a client.”

The Strokes are yet to respond to Adams’ tweets, which you can view below.
