Given the varying quality of their recent Teargarden releases, I still can’t decide whether I’m excited by this news or not, but The Smashing Pumpkins have confirmed that they will be touring Australia some time this year.
In a post on their official Twitter page, the band stated that they “plan to tour South America and Australia in 2010 and hope to return to the U.S. later this year”. A follow-up post promises a full press release coming soon.
It seems likely the tour dates will be in August, around the same time the Pumpkins play the Summersonic festival in Japan.
