PUBLIC TRANSPORT OPTIONS
PLAN YOUR TRANSPORT! The best way to get to Soundwave is by public transport. Make sure you’ve taken a look at the timetables for your local public transport system and you’ve worked out a plan to get to the site – and, perhaps more importantly, how to get home when you’re a little bit worse for wear.
BUS
Many scheduled services arrive and depart from Fortitude Valley which is only a short walk along St Pauls Tce to the Gregory Tce entry venue. The new Busway station is across the road on Bowen Bridge Road and a short walk to the new entry on O’Connell Tce.
TRAIN
Please note that we have opened the Ekka train station for the day for both arrival and departures.

PARKING
No parking available at the venue but Fortitude Valley State School will be providing parking, access if from St Pauls Tce.
PARENT DROP OFF POINT / COLLECTION POINT
A well lit area is provided for parent drop off and collection on O’Connell Tce, access from Brooks St end. Use Public Gate for entrance and exit on O’Connel Tce.
TAXI
A taxi rank / set down area is provided for on O’Connell Tce, access from Brooks St end.
SECURITY
Whether it’s entering, leaving or inside the festival you will be required to abide by any reasonable request or command from the Soundwave security. Remember that they are primarily there to keep the entire festival safe. If you need help or see someone needing help please notify Security straight away. Crowd surfing, moshing and circle dancing are dangerous activities and will not be tolerated. Offenders will either be banned from the area or possibly removed from the site. Soundwave accepts no violence and any form of violence will result in immediate removal from the site.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION
Under extreme & unlikely circumstances a building, area or the entire site may be required to be evacuated or cleared. It will be imperative for you to follow all instructions & directions from emergency services, police, fire brigade & / or our security that would be requested of you in such a situation. Remember these people are only there to help so pay attention.
FIRST AID
There will be First Aid stations adjacent to Stage 1/2, Stage 3, Stage 4 and Stage 6 to treat people who are genuinely ill or have injured themselves on the day. Try to minimize your demands on them if it does not relate to real issues as they have a very long and demanding day. More than 50% of all First Aid Calls are related to cut feet and sunburn – please wear shoes and bring sunblock.
CAMERAS
No professional photography equipment is permitted, however point and click cameras and mobile phones are fine. No cameras with removable lens. No audio visual recording devices of any kind will be permitted.
FREE WATER STATIONS
There will be several FREE water stations located around the site. Site Maps will be available on the website and at the event.
CHILL OUT
There will be a chill-out space at the lower level of the entry building to enable you to get out of the sun and lie down and re-coup. This is for patrons who are dehydrated, heat exhausted or physically impaired and need some quiet time. Do not use this facility unless you need it please. It is not a first aid base.
CLOAK ROOM / LOST PROPERTY
The Cloak Room will be located in the lower level of the entry building where Crowd Care will be based. During the event lost property is delivered to cloak room. After the event all lost property will be at the site office until Tuesday, after which it will be handed in to the Fortitude Valley station.
DISABLED ACCESS INFORMATION
The RNA Showgrounds has excellent access for wheelchairs and there are very good vantage points around the venue to see the stages. There is a wheel chair set down area for patrons arriving in cars or taxis on Gregory Terrace, near Costin Sreet, access from Bowen Bridge Road. (look for signs). Disabled toilets are located around the site. Carers must have a ticket.
