Splendour Bands Touch Down In Australia

It’s finally the most magical time of winter – Splendour In The Grass time, where all of our favourite local and international acts converge on North Byron Parklands for a weekend of live music goodness. Most of the bands are in Australia already, so we thought we’d check out what they’ve been up to…

Rock duo Deap Valley have touched down in Sydney – but not before Instagramming a photo of themselves making a sandwich with fellow Splendour act Jake Bugg.

Wavves’ Nathan Williams has been prolifically tweeting his way around the country. When he’s not ragging on the new Kings Of Leon single, sharing his thoughts on the royal family or dropping some acid and mushies, he’s enjoying Adelaide and visiting Victoria’s 12 Apostles. Charming.

Portugal. The Man may have played live on the Music Feeds rooftop but they also found time to spank each other with a cricket bat, as you do.

Robert DeLong got everybody in Melbourne “fxxing dancing” last night and the American electro rising star has promised to do the same in Sydney tonight.

Everything Everything haven’t quite made it to Australia yet but when they do, the Manchester indie pop quartet are planning on renacting that episode of The Simpsons where Bart goes Down Under.

Little Green Cars are catching up on some shut-eye on their lengthy journey from Ireland…

..while Klaxons are passing their time in transit the best way we can think of.

New York indie outfit Darwin Deez and their eponymous frontman are dreaming of fellow Splendour band and sister act Haim, as well as sharing the funnies.

We’re not sure if LA punks Fidlar are having a bad time in the land of Oz…

..and we’ve got our suspicions about MS MR‘s Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow too.

But there’s no doubt that Xaphoon Jones, one half of rap pop duo Chiddy Bang, is out-of-his-mind excited about heading to our shores.
