After a year of uncertainty and close calls, the 2013 instalment of Port Phillips St. Kilda Festival is set to go ahead, with festival organisers announcing the first batch of artists earlier this morning. In September, Music Feeds published news about the economic woes that the festival was facing, unsure if they would be able to raise suitable funds that would enable them to produce another instalment of the famous art and culture festival.
Thankfully, these aforementioned issues were resolved and the organisers have pulled together quite an impressive lineup. It is headed by Australian party starters Bluejuice and electronic heroes Midnight Juggernauts, who will perform a DJ set during the festival. Thelma Plum and Client Liason will also play alongside Bluejuice on the New Music Stage as The Bamboos’ Kylie Auldist is set to “liven up O’Donnell Gardens”.
Other acts include: The Scarlets, Suzie Stapleton, Better than the Wizards, and who other than Humphrey B Bear! St. Kilda Festival, now in its 33rd year, will cater to over 400,000 individuals across 40 different venues, alongside various stalls, markets and events.
The full lineup is set to be announced on Monday, 7th January.
