Stage Diver Suffers “Sickening” Face-Plant At Lil Yachty Show In New Zealand

Footage has emerged of a would-be crowd-surfer stage diving from a balcony to hard earth at a Lil Yachty show in Auckland, New Zealand.

The 19-year-old rapper was performing at the Powerstation on Tuesday night, when a punter decided to leap from the upper level of the venue into the crowd below. But, instead of being caught be those below him, he belly-flopped onto the floor with a thud.

“The sickening thud led to gasps echoing around the venue,” said NZ Herald reporter Chris Schulz, who was at the show.

Yachty and his crew reportedly exited the stage after the incident, as security escorted the stage-diver (who doesn’t seem to have been seriously injured) out of the venue.

Yachty has since taken to Twitter to react to video of the stage dive fail (below), saying, “This was tooooooooooo crazy.”

Meanwhile, Powerstation owner Peter Campbell has told the NZ Herald this is the third time in 10 years that someone has attempted the jump.

“It’s well and truly (banned),” Campbell said. “Obviously they’re endangering themselves but what’s more concerning for us is the people underneath.”

Yachty was in Australia recently for Splendour In The Grass and a run of his own headline shows.
