Stonefield Share New Track ‘Golden Dream’, Co-Written By Kram

The Findlay sisters, aka Victorian rockers Stonefield, have shared a brand new anthem called Golden Dream, which features both the songwriting and producing talents of Spiderbait drummer Kram, who is working with the band on their second studio album.

As triple j point out, Golden Dream (below) isn’t the first official single from Stonefield’s next album, but it is a new track full of chunky guitars and soaring rock vocals.

Golden Dream was originally written by Kram for use in his soundtrack for the Aussie film Love Is Now, but the song didn’t make the cut and was handed over to Stonefield instead.

“When I first approached the girls about doing this record I played them this song and said, ‘Look, I’m not using this I think this’d be really good for you to try it,'” Kram told triple j‘s Kyran Wheatley.

“They really liked it and did their own version of it and eventually recorded it. It’s a bit of a trip; I’ve never really written a song and given it to someone like that before but they’re very open to that and ended up writing a lot of fantastic songs themselves and we did a lot of co-writing throughout the whole record.”

Stonefield’s self-titled debut album was released in 2013. Kram says the sequel will definitely arrive this year, “Probably in the next few months.”
