The lineup for the 2016 instalment of boutique electronic music festival Strawberry Fields has just gotten even riper with the addition of more than 50 new artists.
Topping the massive list of names is one of Detroit’s most prolific house selectors, Moodymann, who’ll be giving an exclusive Victorian performance at the event.
There’s also London-based Dan Shake, the exclusive Aussie debut of HVOB live, melodic house maestro Atish, plus locals like Koi Child, Charles Murdoch, REMI and oodles more.
Following the controversy surrounding its all-male first lineup announcement, the festival has also added a slew of female artists to its 2016 bill, including multi-instrumental whiz Tash Sultana, Alice Ivy, Allysha Joy, Sorceress and more.
They join previously announced acts including George Fitzgerald, Marcel Fengler, Radio Slave, Stephan Bodzin and others.
This year’s lineup will also deliver a solid “takeover component”, with a showcase tastemakers’ Wondercore Island featuring performances from Swooping Duck, Nai Palm, Oscar Key Sung [DJ set], Vulture St Tape Gang, GROENI, Lossless & Corin.
While a second showcase delivered by London institution Rhythm Section International will spotlight head honcho Bradley Zero, Chaos in the CBD & Prequel.
Strawberry Fields is now in its eighth year and will return to its Murray River site from 17th to 20th November. As well as celebrating the finest electronica around at the moment, there will also be art installations, market stalls and workshops.
