Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain festival has unveiled its 2017 lineup, once again boasting an eclectic list of international and local names.
The lineup for this year’s festival, which celebrates both music and art, is headed by Blood Orange (real name Dev Hynes), who has released one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year in Freetown Sound and is returning to the country for the first time in four years.
The international names keep flowing with German producer maestro Pantha Du Prince, British rapper Little Simz, Canadian electronic crossover Jessy Lanza and US buzz name Weyes Blood all included on the lineup.
On a local level, the likes of Big Scary, KUČKA, Methyl Ethel and Jaala all locked in to play the festival at the tail end of January.
There’s also a strong contingent of visual artists heading down under to provide something special to Sugar Mountain, with highlights including NYC street artist MOMO, Japan-based Aussie artist Karan Singh and audiovisual performance artist Miriam Bleau.
Organisers have also announced they’re bringing back the one-of-a-king restaurant Sensory, with more details promised soon.

UPDATE 06/01/16: Blood Orange (Dev Hynes) has cancelled his upcoming Australian tour dates, including Sugar Mountain. Four replacement acts have been announced for the festival — The Avalanches, Spank Rock, Young Tapz and HABITS. Updated lineup below.
