Take That Are Touring Australia In 2017, For The First Time In 22 Years

2017’s multiple ’90s nostalgia-gasms are continuing today, with British boyband Take That announcing their first Australian tour since 1995.

The unapologetically homoerotic pop juggernauts, who are responsible for such swooning hits as ‘Pray’, ‘Relight My Fire’ and ‘Back For Good’, will be heading back to our shores (sadly, not for good) this November for an arena tour around Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle which is bound to have your mum frothing.

Sadly, the band’s breakout star Robbie Williams will be MIA from proceedings (he was last time as well, due to being ousted for his drug abuse), along with — uh — one of the other guys. The remaining members of the OG lad crew (Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald) will instead be performing as a trio.

“Australia is one of our favourite places in the world and we’re really excited to be coming back to see our Aussie fans and perform some of our greatest hits,” Barlow tells News Corp Australia.

“We can’t wait to visit and relive some of our favourite memories while we are there; it seems like just yesterday we were performing an intimate show for just 500 people at Wonderland, Sydney and visiting Bondi Beach.” (ZOMG Wonderland!)

“Coming back to Australia has a special place in our hearts and our fan base are really dedicated — there’s generations of Take That family fans which is pretty surreal,” he continues.

“We’ve even had fans travel overseas to see us in concert, so we’re really looking forward to be coming back this November and seeing everyone. It’s going to be brilliant!”

Take That will be performing their greatest hits (which include a totally ridonk 56 #1 tracks), as well as new music from their recently released album, Wonderland.

The group’s tour announcement comes hot on the heels of an influx of other old school acts announcing Aussie tours recently, including B*Witched, S Club 7, Hanson, TLC and the combined forces of Alien Ant Farm, Wheatus and Hoobastank.
