Taylor Swift Announces New Album During Her Grammys Acceptance Speech

Taylor Swift surprised her fans with exciting news during the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 5th. The singer announced a new album titled The Tortured Poet’s Department ‘during her acceptance speech while receiving the Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights.

Taylor Swift shared the announcement by saying “This is my 13th Grammy,” “I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans.” She concluded her speech by saying, “So I want to say ‘thank you’ to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years — which is that my brand new album comes out April 19.”

After her Grammy Acceptance Speech, Taylor Swift also announced the album via her social media, building anticipation for her 11th studio album by sharing its cover. Taylor posted with a caption, “All’s fair in love and poetry… New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19,” The shared cover image features the singer laying on a bed, hinting at the poetic and intimate themes within the upcoming release. Taylor Swift’s album covers often reflect certain themes, which the audience can point out easily.

Now, it remains to be seen what Taylor Swift has in store with her upcoming new album The Tortured Poet’s Department on April 19.
