Taylor Swift has broken the Internet this Thursday evening with the announcement that she’ll be releasing her surprise new album folklore tomorrow. Yep, you read that correctly – tomorrow.
In a statement posted to social media, Swift said the entire album was recorded in isolation in lieu of her touring her seventh studio album, Lover, which dropped in 2019.
“I wrote and recorded this in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine,” she said in a statement, before listing off an impressive group of names including Bon Iver, Jack Antonoff, and The National’s Aaron Dessner.
“My gut is telling me that if you make something with love, you should just put it into the world,” she later said.
She also revealed that the video for the album’s lead single ‘cardigan’ will be out tomorrow as well.
Both folklore and the ‘cardigan’ video will be out at tomorrow at 2pm AEST. Check out the album artwork and full tracklist below.
