The Clash Releasing Remastered Albums In Boombox-Shaped Box Set

In a project overseen by guitarist Mick Jones, 5 original albums from punk masters The Clash will be given the full remastered service. The new albums will be released in a boombox-shaped box set aptly titled the Sound System.

The albums which have been selected for the set will be The Clash (1977), Give ‘Em Enough Rope (1978), London Calling (1979), Sandinista! (1980) and Combat Rock (1982), all remastered from the original tapes by Mick Jones himself.

It wouldn’t be a box set with out an array of other features, would it? The Sound System will includes rarities, demos and singles as well as a DVD featuring otherwise unreleased footage of the band. Those who purchase will also receive a fresh copy of the band’s iconic Armagideon Time zine.

What’s more, the set will also be released at the same time as a 33-track 2xCD compilation entitled The Clash Hits Back. Both releases have a local release date of Friday, 6th September and an international release date of Monday, 9th September.
