The Gooch Palms Announce Tour, Drop New Single ‘Marfa Lights’

Newcastle garage pop twosome The Gooch Palms — that’s Kat Friend and Leroy Macqueen — have announced a new east coast tour in celebration of their latest single ‘Marfa Lights’.

The duo are scheduled to play headline shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this October, with support from Raave Tapes in both Brisbane and Melbourne. They’re also set to perform at Noisy Heeler Festival in Mussellbrook along the way.

Today’s tour announcement arrives on the heels of ‘Marfa Lights’, which was inspired by The Gooch Palms’ time spent driving through the Texan town of Marfa, a hotspot for UFO enthusiasts which is known for its mysterious ‘Marfa lights’.

Watch the video for the song below, alongside the pair’s upcoming headline tour dates.

‘Marfa Lights’ follows The Gooch Palms’ first single ‘Busy Bleeding’, which has copped more than a few spins on triple j since its release in June this year.
