The Knife Announce New Album For 2013 Release

Swedish electronic outfit The Knife have delivered a cryptic message through YouTube, which has sent fans into an absolute frenzy. The duo, consisting of Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer, delivered the video with the caption: “Music can be so meaningless. We had to find lust. We asked our friends and lovers to help us.”

It’s almost seven years since the brother/sister duo dropped their last album, Silent Shout, and NME reports that next year will see the release of their fifth album, Shaking the Habitual. NME continues to state that the album will be released in the European spring.

The video itself does not really say a whole lot; however, through their mysterious connections, Pitchfork have confirmed the albums release. Their distinctive haunting electronic music has been sorely missed around these parts since their 2006 release, and as such Shaking the Habitual is now one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2013.
