The Weeknd Announces ‘Trilogy’ Vinyl Release Plans

Compiled from remastered renditions of his run of three EPs, Trilogy is the first major label release from buzzworthy crooner The Weeknd, and come Tuesday, 26th March you will be able to get your hands on the album in pristine vinyl form for the first time.

Details have sprung up on The Weeknd’s official site on how you can get your grubby mitts on a copy. The boxset is now available for pre-order and will set you back $199.99. But the deal gets sweeter – the release will be signed, and therefore will be ultimately sentimental to the people who buy it. There is a catch, however: only 500 copies will be available, so you’ll need to get in real quick.

Trilogy is made up of House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence – three EPs that have been released previously in 2011, but only as free digital downloads. That business model seems to have worked well, as since he penned a deal with Republic Records (which saw all the material cop a re-release in 2012) Trilogy has hit gold status, meaning 500,000 units were shifted in the US and debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200.
