The Weeknd Donates $2.5m to Palestinian Aid

Canadian musician The Weeknd is directing $US2.5 million to provide emergency relief in Palestine through his XO Humanitarian Fund. This donation is in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and will fund over four million emergency meals. Around 820 metric tons of food parcels will arrive in Gaza, which are set to feed 173,000 Palestinians for two weeks.

The Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye has been a Goodwill Ambassador for WFP since October 2021. The musician’s XO Humanitarian Fund was formed in collaboration with the World Food Program USA and has already raised $US5 million to combat food insecurity.
