Talk about getting three rock gods all in the one place at the same time.
Those who went to Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band‘s first show at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Friday night were given one hell of a treat – with Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Rage Against the Machine axeman Tom Morello joining ‘The Boss’ on stage not just once, but several times during the night.
The show went for a whopping 3.5 hours and featured 28 songs from Springsteen’s catalogue.
Consequence of Sound reports that Morello “appeared countless times throughout the night, most prominently on Death to My Hometown, Jack of All Trades, The Ghost of Tom Joad and Badlands.”
Meanwhile, Vedder dueted with Springsteen on an amped-up version of Atlantic City and also helped out on Tenth Avenue Freeze Out.
And, if that wasn’t enough, both Vedder and Morello joined Springsteen for a version of Twist and Shout – you can see a fan-filmed video of this at the bottom of the page.
A second show was happening at the same venue in the US overnight, so it’ll be interesting to see if the same stars turn up again, or if indeed some more special guests join ‘The Boss’ on stage.
