Trent Reznor Shoots Down Rumour Of New Nine Inch Nails Single This Year

Trent Reznor has been forced to tweet for the first time in over six months, dispelling rumours that Nine Inch Nails were to release a new single in September.

A Reddit user claiming to be an industry source posted an image of Columbia Records’ release schedule which had a new Nine Inch Nails single Dive And Slam pencilled in for September.

The image has since been taken down but Consequence Of Sound grabbed the image beforehand (below).

Late last year, Reznor tweeted saying to expect new Nine Inch Nails in 2016 but he’s been pretty quiet on that front all year.

Hours after the news emerged on Reddit though, Reznor took to Twitter to seemingly shoot down the rumours saying, “Not true.” It’s the first time he’s tweeted since February and suggests that the information about their new single is wrong.

The Reddit source, however, has now hit back claiming that the album is called Not True and will be released in November. We’ll likely find out soon whether they’re right or if they’re just bluffing.

Reznor and co. haven’t released a new record since 2013’s Hesitation Marks after which they toured extensively. They visited Australia in 2014 with Queens Of The Stone Age.
