Triple J Like A Version 8 Out Today

Each Friday the goodly peeps over at triple j treat the country to a brand new cover song from some of the most talented names in modern music. Then once a year some unknown personnel behind the scenes toil away to compile some of the best covers, or at least the ones they can afford the rights to, into one easy-to-handle CD.

The outcome of this is popular cover compilation Live A Version. Now the 8th edition of the ongoing series is on the shelves and packed with radical renditions of timeless classics and current hits all modified by virtuosos, troubadours and minstrels alike.

This year’s instalment of Like A Version includes Boy & Bear taking on Empire of the Sun; Julia Stone covering Boy & Bear and Bon Iver reworking Anais Mitchell’s Coming Down; and that’s not even the half of it. How about Josh Pyke’s and Matt Corby’s respective versions of The Jezabels and The Black Keys; does that do anything for you?
