Triple J Unearthed Reveals Top 50 Bands Of 2012

Having celebrated its 1st birthday last year, triple j’s Unearthed digital radio station has done the math and produced a list of the top 50 artists spun on the station. With a strong emphasis on up-and-coming fresh talent, the list gives a strong indication of who to keep an eye on.

South Oz is normally left out of any sort of music talk, but that’s probably going to change given that the top two Unearthed artists are SA residents – hip-hop rising star Purpose and indie rock crew Bad Dreems.

Following Victoria’s Runforyourlife, New South Wales enters the mix with Sticky Fingers and the band exciting everyone at the moment The Preatures.

A whole range of genres have been covered, definitely skewed more towards the indie side of things, but plenty of hip-hop, including Allday with C1 and Mr Hill & Rahjconkas.
