Utopia Celebrates Thirty Years Of Heavy Metal Thunder

Sydney’s Utopia Records, long established as Australia’s home of all things heavy and metal is marking its 30th year in the music business by staging a series of shows to celebrate the wealth of creative talent and diversity that exists in the local hard rock & metal scene.

This series of shows will focus on the various sub genres of the mighty juggernaut that is METAL! and will present the best bands from the Sydney scene of the musical & cultural phenomenon that really is LOUDER THAN LIFE!

Over three heavy nights, Utopia will present:

DOOMFEST, a 5 band bill including POD People, Daredevil, Bob Sledge, Summonus & Arrowhead at the Bald Faced Stag, Leichhardt on Friday 25th JUNE. Bob Sledge are reforming as a special one-off for the show

The celebrations continue the following night with an ALL-STAR Covers Band at the Lansdowne Hotel, Broadway (FREE), which features some of Sydney’s best bands covering a selection of some of the best hard rock and metal tunes from the 70’s to the 00’s!

On July 10th Utopia will turn the Manning Bar at Sydney Uni into a seething mass of metal, with METAL FOR THE MASSES – with a line-up that boasts Mortal Sin, The Amenta, Daysend and six more of Sydney’s very best Metal acts.

One final show is still to be announced for July 30th that promises to be a night in hard rock heaven with some of Sydney’s best rock acts coming together in debauched celebration of ’80’s style decadence , get ready to ROCK HARD.

All profits from shows are to be donated to the ‘Youth Off The Streets’ charity.

Featuring members of Bob Sledge, Lord, Darker Half, Mother Mars, Falcon, Bad Voodoo, Moonshine, Christ Art Museum, Summonus & more, playing a selection of some of the best hard rock and metal tunes from the 70s to the 00s.
