Volbeat, Filter, Hacktivist Sidewaves Announced

Industrial, metal and rock fans, rejoice – Danish sensation Volbeat, Cleveland rockers Filter and UK rule breakers Hacktivist are getting together for the mother of all Sidewaves, today announcing a pair of triple-billed headliner shows.

Volbeat should need no introduction, having been catapulted to stardom after being handpicked by Metallica to support them on their 2009 tour. Now they’re finally bringing their acclaimed Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies album Down Under, letting Aussie audiences join their sinister journey through death, the dark arts, and spaghetti westerns.

They’re joined by Filter, who have mastered the art of giving the finger to tradition with their latest release The Sun Comes Out Tonight. The Richard Patrick-led outfit are going as hard as ever, bringing the same energy and electricity they’ve had since their debut record Short Bus back in 1995.

Milton Keynes’ Hacktivist have uncovered the final word in the places where progressive metal and rap meet. Their live show incorporates dark bass, ambient walls of sound and political lyrics that explore everything from anarchism to gun control.

These not to be missed shows will take place in Sydney at the Oxford Art Factory on Tuesday, 25th February, and in Melbourne’s The Espy on Wednesday, 26th February. Tickets go on sale from Friday, 14th February at 9:00am AEDT.
