This week, over 22 thousand people have clicked attending to a Facebook event inviting attendees to “Stand on your front porch and scream”, in what is, quite frankly, the only acceptable reaction to the dumpster fire that has been 2020 thus far.
“Covid’s shit. Every1’s a bit sad. Just stand on ur porch and scream until u feel a bit better. Let’s all unite in our shared depression,” read the event’s description. Poetry, really.
Today the event has secured a high profile endorsement in Jimmy Barnes himself (whose image adorns the event invite) a screaming expert like no other. Or, as the event organiser describes him, the “number one yelling champion and singer of songs about affordable wine and trees that have caught on fire.”
“I wanted to let you know that I’m going to be out on the porch at 7 o/clock tonight, having a scream with you all,” Barnsey told attendees in a video message, before launching into a few tips and tricks to help attendees get the most out of their vocal chords.
“7 o’clock tonight, I’ll see you on the porch. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh”
The event is scheduled to take place tonight at 7 pm, so get those vocals warmed up and that anger rising. Organisers have also asked attendees to send their best video of their 70 porch scream to [email protected], so they can mash them all together into one big clip that we can watch on loop until this is all over.
It’s not too late to learn more about the event, here.
For some added inspo…
