Singer-songwriter Washington (AKA Megan Washington), has announced a 2017 national tour which will see her travel the country with some of Australia’s best symphony orchestras.
The new string of shows will see Washington perform her upcoming (and still yet-to-be announced) fourth album in full in Sydney (with three consecutive nights at the Sydney Opera House, no less), Brisbane, Hobart, Perth and Melbourne between September and October.
Along the way, Washington will be joined by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and West Australian Symphony Orchestra in their respective states, while the Impossible Orchestra will be joining her in Melbourne.
“It’s an absolute life highlight to be able to work with orchestras of this calibre”, Washington says.
“When considering repertoire for these shows, it was very important to me that I focus on the future and present new work. I want to look musically forward, not back.
“Essentially these shows are decadent, extravagant album previews for my new record, which will be out next year. It’s going to be a sumptuous, romantic art party.”
Washington returned with her latest single ‘Saint Lo’ last year, and later performed at the AFL Womens’s Grand Final.
