We’re still just buzzing about the segment being back and now Fergus James has gone and made an absolutely insane ‘Like a Version’ debut for us.
He’s taken on 2019 Hottest 100 STAR, BENEE. Performing ‘Soaked’, James twists it into an indie-rock cover.
Fergus James brings a wildly upbeat but frantic energy to the cover — it’s so bloody cool. Plus, he had a hand from Polish Club’s David Novak on the guitar.
He also performed an original, his newest single, ‘Good Man’. ‘Good Man’ sees Fergus James give us a raw, acoustic performance.

Triple j shared a ‘Behind the Like a Version’ video with us. In the video, Fergus James reflects on his fave LAVs and says, “Honestly it sounds naff and sentimental, but this has been something I’ve always wanted to do from a very young age. And it’s unbelievably surreal to be standing in the Like a Version room.”
