We knew that Justin Timberlake loved the limelight, but this is ridiculous. OK, sorry, we needed to get that one out of our system.
Because JT has dressed up as giant man-lime in this new tequila commercial, you see, and the results are just as fruity as you’d imagine.
The 3-minute clip shows the prince of pop adding to his impressive acting CV by portraying Rick “Sour” Vane, a once high-rolling Boston citrus with the weight of the world on his pithy green shoulders.
Timberlake gives a tour de force performance as the party lime who used to have it all, before his dreams came crashing down around him, thanks to the advent of Souza 901 Tequila, in this Martin Scorsese-inspired mockumentary.
“I’m so sorry…” the boy band graduate posted on his Instagram account, along with an additional short clip of himself, this time acting as the head of Souza, responding to allegations made by his limey counterpart in the original ad (below).
Timberlake and Sauza originally partnered on a line of tequila in January 2014, with the 901 moniker inspired by the area code of his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.
