Footage has emerged of Smashing Pumpkins members Billy Corgan and Jeff Schroeder performing two new acoustic songs at Corgan’s own Madame ZuZu’s teahouse in Illinois.
The new tracks are titled Red Dirt and Double R, and they see Corgan and Schroeder come together for two powerful ballads which could easily have sat on the band’s 2008 acoustic American Gothic EP. There’s still a hint of that ’90s Pumpkins sound in there, too.
Watch the pair perform the songs in full, below.
The Pumpkins’ latest new track comes after Corgan treated fans to an emotional new acoustic song at a VIP event back in March.
Smashing Pumpkins released their latest album, Monuments To An Elegy, in 2014. Since then, the band have reunited with former guitarist James Iha, while former Pumpkins bassist D’arcy Wretzky says she’s considering rejoining the band after being asked a number of times.
So how long until that full-blown Pumpkins reunion, then? Only time will tell.
