White Night Melbourne Reveals Full 2015 Program

Melbourne’s White Night is set to return in just a few weeks and today organisers have unveiled the event’s full program, revealing what will be happening around the city’s streets, major cultural institutions, public spaces, gardens, landmark buildings and laneways from 7pm Saturday, 21st February until 7am Sunday, 22nd February.

The full program features more than 80 free events and activities with artists from Victoria and around Australia as well as France, Portugal, Greece, Canada, UK, USA and Morocco. 2015’s music program will feature three all-night stages, catering to a variety of musical tastes.

The Indie Music Stage in the Alexandra Gardens will feature performances from Brisbane’s Airling, Melbourne MC REMI, Jack Ladder and the Dreamlanders, new wave revivalists Total Giovanni as well as Jen Cloher, NO ZU, Hierphants, Jonny Telefone, Cela, Deaf Wish, White Wash and Superstar.

There will also be a jazz stage hosting sets from the likes of The Cairo Club Orchestra, Tijuana Peanuts, Movement 9 and a re-united Los Cabrones who will be celebrating their 20th birthday. 2015 will also see the introduction of a world music stage where acts like Briggs, Ngaiire, Tek Tek Ensemble and The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra will play.

Other musical highlights announced today include all night classical music performances inside the Block Arcade with Baroque at The Block. White night Melbourne 2015 is an even larger event than last year’s, taking over nine city precincts from Southbank Boulevard to Victoria Street in the north, with new events around the Yarra River, Alexandra Gardens and the Melbourne Museum.
