Xavier Rudd Reveals New Band, New Album ‘Nanna’ & National Tour Dates

Aussie singer-songwriter Xavier Rudd has revealed details of his forthcoming album, the adorably titled Nanna, will be released at the start of Autumn, and to celebrate, he’s hitting the road for a string of national tour dates across March and April.

Backed by his brand-new band, The United Nations, the troubadour will kick things off in Melbourne, before taking Nanna to visit Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Fremantle, where he’ll be appearing at the West Coast Blues N Roots Festival, before wrapping things up in Byron Bay with a spot on the massive Bluesfest lineup.

The tour marks the first time Australian fans will get to see Rudd in the role of frontman, with the singer amassing a collective of like-minded musos from all corners of the globe to back him up on guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keys, horns, flute, saxophone and vocals. The aptly titled band combines the diverse cultures of Australia, Indigenous Australia, South Africa, Samoa, Germany and Papua New Guinea, which Rudd says is symbolic of the message that all people of the world can come together.

Xavier Rudd’s eighth studio album, Nanna, was mixed by Errol Brown at the Tuff Gong Studios and follows Rudd’s wildly successful #2 Gold-selling album, 2012’s Spirit Bird.

It’s due to hit Aussie shelves on March 13th as an independent release via Salt X/Universal, with exclusive pre-sale packages available at Rudd’s official website from Friday, February 6th.

Tickets to the Nanna Tour go on sale from Thursday, January 29th via www.xavierrudd.com. Details below.
